Abstract :
SCM/Ethernet PON is a complex PON, in which two wavelengths transmitting downstream simultaneously. As the rate of Ethernet becomes higher, the modulation frequency of SCM is getting higher. The two wavelengths inevitably affect each other, and with the higher rate and frequency, the impact is more serious. This paper mainly analysis the impacts of Cross-Power Modulation and Dispersion in SCM/Ethernet PON, gets the relationship of BER and modulation frequency, modulation index, and the average optical power.
