Abstract :
A predictive tool has been developed in order to determine the power losses in deflection coils during the design process. This makes it possible to design and redesign deflection coils with respect to minimising power losses. The power loss model is verified by modelling an existing deflection coil and comparing the calculated results with measurements using a calorimetric measuring system. Both the power predictive tool and the calorimetric measuring system are developed at Aalborg University, Institute of Energy Technology, Denmark
