Abstract :
Power converter layout can have detrimental effects on operation if it is overlooked during the design stage. Measured effects for five converters, representing three different topologies, are presented in this paper as part of a systematic approach. Mechanisms causing these effects are discussed. Parasitic values extracted are presented and used in SPICE simulations. Correlation between experiment and simulations are examined. Frequency content of simulation switch voltages are presented and possible future work is discussed
