Abstract :
In this paper, a partial discharge (PD) location method based on Taylor-genetic algorithm is proposed. The hyperbolic equations of time difference of arrival (TDOA) are established to calculate the position of PD source. When the number of sensors is more than three, maximum likelihood estimation is utilized to improve the accuracy of location. To search the solutions of hyperbolic equations, Taylor expiration method is used. However its performance depends highly on the accuracy of initial guess. The genetic method is proposed to find the optimal initial point. The results show that the increase of redundant information can effectively improve location accuracy, and the use of genetic algorithms to find appropriate initial point greatly enhances the feasibility of the Taylor algorithm.
