Abstract
This paper investigates the electrostatic interactions between organic scaffolds and the transmembrane proteins involved in cell adhesion. The analysis is performed through the solution of the linearized Poisson-Boltzmann equation by means of the Boundary Element Method. The electrostatic energy is evaluated varying the relative position of the interacting molecules and the properties of the solvent.
