Abstract
Based on the mathematic model of UPFC, the capability of voltage regulation and power flow control of UPFC is discussed in this paper. A major fuzzy controller with self-adjustable factor of UPFC is put forward. The controller realizes decoupling control of shunt side and series side of UPFC by unique disposal. Furthermore, a supplementary fuzzy controller with use of the power flow as controlling input is designed in order to improve system´s transient stability better. For designing the fuzzy controllers, the non-uniform transform is used for easy fuzzifier and defuzzifier. Simulation results show that the major fuzzy controller and supplementary fuzzy controller of UPFC proposed in this paper can greatly improve the system´s stability of the power angle and the quality of the voltage. At the same time the strong capability of power flow control by UPFC is verified from the results
