Abstract :
A novel type of integrated filtering algorithm named morphology-wavelet filter which is applied in short circuit fault detection in low-voltage systems is presented in this paper. The proposed morphology-wavelet filter combines the quadratic B-spline wavelet transform and the generalized morphological filter with multiple structuring elements, so it has the excellent capability in removing various kinds of interference, protecting the properties of short circuit fault, and decreasing the computational complexity. The distinguished feature of this kind of algorithm makes its successful application in the short circuit fault detection in low-voltage distributed systems. The short circuit fault detection equipment based on high-performance DSP is also presented in this paper and the real-time implementation of the proposed algorithm has been realized on this equipment
