  • Abstract
    The present work is focused on design and development of an architecture able to provide a remote segmentation service for various kinds of images or applications. The system exploits the functionalities offered by the already existing desktop application Isocontorni, by extending its capabilities towards client/server environment. In order to achieve this goal the original Isocontorni code has been decomposed in independent modules for processing, storing and representing purposes. Using the created server components a Web application has been developed to demonstrate how to make the fuzzy image segmentation service highly available through Internet. Performances evaluation in terms of elaboration times with different image dimensions have been performed in order to compare the Web-based solution between the pc-based one and to prove the reliability of the proposed system
