Abstract :
In this paper, a contactless energy transmission system(CETS) with iron core is proposed. The power transfer efficiency is simplified by modeling the separable transformer, properly compensating the coils and introducing constraints for circuit´s parameters. An optimization model for the variable gap transformer is given to obtain the optimal design. Four primary coils are wound and tested under the same experimental condition. The measured data reveals that the proposed transformer could keep the efficiency high within given gap variable range.
