Abstract :
This paper concerns a part of a larger project called TRILION: “Transmission d´Images par Liaison Ionospherique”, its goal is to realize a videoconference through the HF band. One of the challenges of TRILION is to achieve a wide band transmission of at least 20 kHz, in order to reach a high rate of transmission. An other challenge is to optimize the different techniques of standard coding (JPEG, MPEG) and to consider the necessary redundancy to achieve a good reception in regard with ionospheric features. This article is a contribution to this difficult problem between the search for an optimal compression and the redundancy required for an ionospheric link. The originality of the paper resides in the coupling of orthogonal transforms and a redundant transform. We present in this paper some results of transmission simulation with a loss of information like cut offs
