Abstract :
In this paper OFDM is analyzed on the HF ionospheric channel. The non-coherent DPSK modulation shows a high error floor and an improvement in performance can be achieved, if channel-estimation is improved. As pilot-based channel estimation would lower the throughput, decision-directed methods are presented and analyzed by simulation
