  • Abstract
Abeveled compact dipole antenna for wideband applications equipped with via holes is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna is fed by differential RF signals through coplanar striplines (CPSs) with appreciable return loss and impedance performance across ultrawideband (UWB) operating range of 3.1 to 6.25 GHz. The proposed low profile antenna system consists of two conventional rectangular radiating arms on one side of a substrate integrated by shorting via holes to a couple of broader arms on the another side of the substrate. Beveling the radiator edges results in better impedance matching and bandwidth performance. Balunintegration results in microstrip to coplanar strip conversion. The resonant frequencies of the antenna are centered at 3.45 GHz and 5.78 GHz and VSWR =2 within the band ranges of 3.1-3.9 GHz and 5.27-6.27 GHz with a consistent radiation pattern. The stacked profile of the antenna results in antenna miniaturization with the integrated balun.
