Abstract :
A lot of dual band antennas have been developed for wireless communications. A novel compact Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed with composite metamaterial consisting of inner split ring resonator (CRR) and outer closed ring resonator (SRR) with dualband at Wireless Local Area Network is proposed. The antenna size is 27 × 31.7 × 1.6 mm. A CPW fed line consisting of symmetric ground plane and tapered impedance transformer line is employed to improve the impedance matching of antenna. The dualband operating are achieved by etching two inverted L shaped slots lying on ground plane. The designed antenna operates at 2.1 GHz (1.4GHz-3GHz) and 6 GHz (5GHz-6.7GHz) that successfully cover WLAN operation bands. The proposed antenna is analysed by Ansoft HFSS and successfully achieved return loss, good radiation pattern with reasonable gain across the operating bands.
