Abstract :
In this paper, a new coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed dual folded slot antenna is designed for 4.9 GHz public safety spectrum. The dual folded slot antenna is designed on FR4 substrate has thickness 0.8 mm with dielectric constant 4.4. The simulated gain at this resonance frequency is 4 dBi and the total efficiency is 98% The proposed antenna size is only 11 × 15 mm2. The symmetrical and omnidirectional radiation patterns are obtained in elevation plane and azimuthal plane. These properties and the reduced size of antenna make the antenna effectively for 4.9 GHz applications.
