  • Abstract
FRIENDS (Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent Energy Delivery System) is a concept for future power delivery system which intends to attain a flexibility in reconfiguration of power delivery system, high reliability in power supply, and customized power quality services, etc. by using distributed generators, energy storage systems, power electronics technologies, communication technologies and distributed intelligent facilities, etc. In FRIENDS, so-called QCC (quality control center) plays an important role to realize customized power quality services and to connect a large number of distributed generators to distribution systems. This paper introduces a concept of FRIENDS and a method to find the optimal QCC network configuration of FRIENDS. A numerical example in real world is shown to demonstrate the planning method.
