Abstract
A general approach to finding a Lyapunov function for determining the control and proving stability for large-scale interconnected power systems is presented. The method is then used to find a specific Lyapunov function based on a fairly general turbine/generator model that consists of any existing nonlinear generator model and a second-order model turbine/governor. The Lyapunov function is simple enough to be very effective in proving the stability of the system where a linear decentralized feedback control is applied
