Abstract
A novel permanent magnet generator with adjustable air gap flux is investigated. By using 3-D finite element analysis, the electromagnetic analysis and performance evaluation are carried out. Furthermore, one prototype motor is made and tested. It is clarified that the proposed structure is easy to regulate the air gap flux and demonstrate high performance such as high efficiency and good air gap flux regulation characteristics.
