Abstract :
In wireless sensor network, the nodes forward large amount of data to the sink which causes several problems like energy and data losses. This work focus on efficient data gathering and aggregation with limited energy consumption among sensor nodes for increasing the network lifetime. This study introduces the RPEVI (Reference Point Imparting Mechanism) for efficient data gathering and bounded data aggregation technique for reducing number of data transmitted, data loss and delay. In RPIM technique the reference points are elected based on their connectivity and imparting mechanism for defining the path of mobile collector. The data aggregation is a basic task where aggregation technique is applied on collected data. In RPIM Reference points aggregates the collected data from neighbouring nodes using bounded data aggregation technique and forwards it to mobile collector. The performance parameters throughput, packet delivery rate and end to end delay are evaluated. To observe the effectiveness of proposed method the results of RPIM are compared with SHDGP method. The impact of the result shows RPIM enhanced the throughput, packet delivery rate and end to end delay is reduced.
