Abstract
Case based design is an effective method to reuse existing resources in an enterprise. The similarity between 3D models of parts is measured by shape distribution method. Fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm is applied to classify products 3D models. The classes of 3D model form high dimension Euler space and the vector space model is used to represent the product case. The process to construct product case database and to retrieve the product is presented. Through experiments, it is proved that the method can promote the degree of automation and retrieval accuracy in Case based design when applying to special field.
