Production of the Alpha Solarco proof-of-concept array

A program to produce a cost-effective, high-reliability, point focus concentrating array is described. The experience with the operation of limited production equipment is discussed, with emphasis on the implementation of a rigorous quality-control/quality-assurance program that should provide the required reliability of the array. In addition, test results for the modules are discussed along with their installation and operation on the array. The limited production of the proof-of-concept array has provided data and insights into the ability to manufacture the high-concentration array. This experience indicates that the attainment of the goal of a cost-effective reliable array is realistic in the near term
