  • Abstract
This article is a progress report on the work that Hydro-Quebec has undertaken on its distribution network. It describes the utility´s response strategy aimed at consolidating the entire power system. More specifically, it deals with the structural part of engineering and R&D efforts to reinforce overhead lines and thus boost protection against accidents such as the one that occurred in January 1998
