Abstract :
An algorithm that automatically maximizes the contrast of a digital radiography is presented here. The algorithm applies an adequate grey level transform, whose parameters are computed on the basis of the image entropy and of the maximization of the contrast enhancement effect. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach with respect to more traditional algorithms.
