  • Abstract
    The successful single phase auto re-close (SPAR) depends on the self-extinction of secondary arc current. The neutral reactor in the neutral of shunt reactors is applied to reduce the electrostatic component of the secondary arc in the traditional transmission lines. The serial compensation changed the uniformity of the distributed parameters in the transmission lines. The mechanism of low frequency oscillation in the secondary arc of series compensated lines is analyzed in this paper. A measure to limit the secondary arc in series compensated lines is proposed, too and the validity is proved by simulation
