Abstract :
A capacity expansion in regional power system with energy restructuring consideration has been presented in this paper. Wind and small hydro distributed generations are discussed as intermittent energy. Reserve capacity is prepared for the daily intermittence, while the monthly fluctuation output during a year has also been considered to formulate a low-cost overall generation through quitting the existing old/small thermal units for expansion or elimination. Under the surroundings, the extra-expanded capacity can be determined and the energy structure can be adjusted to promote the renewable wind and small hydro energy instead of the low efficient generation. A case study on 9-bus HV system has been used to perform a reasonable implementation
