Abstract :
An examination is made of the performance deterioration of multiple-access radio systems using spread spectrum modulation due to the presence of colocated or cosited interferers. Cositing interferers are simulated with a general-purpose computer program. Effects of colocation interference are measured using a radio prototype. For the particular radio system under consideration, it is concluded that a frequency management that allocates different carrier frequencies to radios in the vicinity of a receiver, is necessary only for radios in colocation. The radio system is fairly robust with respect to radios in cositing
