Abstract
Consulting to geo-location database is one of the approaches for secondary user (SU) to obtain the list of available channels for its operation. Each regulator may require the SU to send different types of information to the geo-location database in order to calculate the channel availability. However existing methods consume time and introduce heavy load to the database due to the procedures of checking overlapping between protected contours and SU´s operation areas in order to protect primary users (PU) from harmful interference. By submitting SU´s preferred channels to database the calculation time and database´s load will be reduced significantly. The additional information can also help the database manages spectrum usage so that it can provide recommendation to other SUs.
