Abstract
In this paper, reliability of transmission network, considering effect of protective systems and fault probability for them is investigated. Protective system faults are one of the main sources of the cascade outages and may leads to vast blackouts. Desired performance of the protection system has a significant role in the improvement of the network reliability. The proposed method is based on minimal cutsets. The optimal algorithm to consider the protective system is presented, and then the mentioned approach is tested for a typical network. Finally effects of this method are compared to the other method, in which protection system has been neglected. Comparison is carried out through the reliability indices
