Abstract
A computer environment, Nectar, that integrates an array of circuit verification capabilities in a comprehensive program is presented. Nectar emphasizes design tasks and hides the idiosyncrasies of individual tools. The components and features of the analog design framework are presented. An implementation of the rule-based expert system component of the framework results in an over tenfold increase in speed, thus giving the environment additional corrective capabilities. Another major component described is a rule editor, which simplifies the extension of the knowledge base of Nectar
