Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) based frequency division duplexing (FDD) systems can coexist with time division duplexing (TDD) systems in the same geographical area operating in adjacent frequency bands. However, this may cause adjacent channel interference and the throughput loss in the FDD systems. Through the interference modeling, it was found that the optimum downlink to uplink transmission time ratio of the TDD system to minimize the throughput loss in adjacent FDD downlink is between about 4:6 and 5:5.
