  • Abstract
Medium voltage (MV) power line carrier communication is an economical and practical way for the 10 kV distribution power line. MV carrier communication project based on spread spectrum technology is proposed in this paper. The whole architecture of MV power line carrier communication system is presented in this paper with the emphasis on the design of the power line carrier communication system, as which kernel chip SSC P300 is adopted, the hardware and software design of the carrier modulate-demodulate are described in detail. Especially the results of this system´s test and simulation are also presented. The proposed MV spread spectrum carrier communication system has been used in various distribution network automatic systems. Field tests show that the system is an economical and feasible communication means
