Abstract
An implementation of a floating CMOS diode is introduced and its working principle experimentally demonstrated. The diode can be used in a wide variety of circuits, such as piecewise linear function synthesizers, peak detectors, absolute value circuits, etc. The utilization of the CMOS diode to implement a broadband voltage rectifier circuit is discussed. Simulations on this circuit have shown its potential for operating at frequencies on the order of 50 MHz for 3-μm CMOS-technology
