Abstract :
This paper presents a dual wideband CPW-fed monopole antenna based on split-ring elements for WLAN (2.4/5 GHz) applications. The proposed split-ring monopole antenna (SRMA) has a compact novel design which provides 13.8% and 55.5% impedance bandwidth at operational frequency bands. Moreover, the antenna exhibits good radiation pattern with predicted gains of 4-6 dBi in the related bands. The analysis and design of the proposed microstrip antenna have been carried out by means of Ansoft HFSS and an antenna prototype was then constructed and tested. Numerical analyses using the simulator and measurement results are also presented in this paper.
