Abstract
Standard Pseudo Random Binary Sequences (PRBS) are symmetrical periodic signals whose autocorrelation function looks like ldquoDiracrdquo except that the theoretically zero part of the autocorrelation function is non zero and equals -1/ N for a periodic sequence of length N. This paper shows how to obtain an exactly zero autocorrelation between periodic peaks, i.e. an exactly independent periodic sequence. An original application of the PRBS properties is developed to introduce a priori knowledge as a smart regularisation process for impulse response identification.
