Abstract :
According to the design requirements of the first AC drive diesel locomotive in China, this paper probes into the design technology of the AC-DC-AC traction system. Problems in system design concerning the matching of the inverter and asynchronous traction motor as well as the effects caused by difference of wheel diameters are discussed. The main circuit diagram, control system diagram and general technical parameters are presented. At the end of the paper, test results of the system on a test bed and on the locomotive are analyzed, which further verifies that the operation performances of the system and its components comply with the design requirements
