Abstract :
An alternative approach for fast calculation of adequacy indices for systems with distributed generation is proposed. This work focuses in particular on wind power generation, but the methodology can also be used for systems with other generation resources. The proposed approach is based on traditional Monte Carlo simulation techniques coupled with artificial neural networks. It can be particularly useful when a large number of scenarios is being considered, such as in operation or planning evaluation applications
