Abstract
An extended version of the spectral domain approach (SDA) is presented for the analysis of open microstrip lines coupled through a circular hole in the common ground plane. In this analysis, the circular aperture is allowed to have any size and lateral thickness. The effects of surface wave and radiation are also taken into account via the exact Green´s function formulation in the spectral domain. Numerical results computed using this method are provided for different hole sizes and thicknesses
