Abstract :
For the Arctic exploration it is necessary to provide polar explorers with reliable high-quality communication equipment: satellite complex, router, wireless network. To supply with communications equipment and computer network a stable power supply is needed. A possible solution of the problem is the usage of alternative energy sources (solar panels, wind generators, batteries). In this paper we study the possibility of installing the system in the Arctic for making alternative power supply. Tests showed that during polar day the best way is to use solar panels, during the polar night vertical wind turbines are better.
