Abstract
The authors present the systematic analysis and design method to deal with a two-inertia system. While a simple design method has not been effectively developed for three-inertia system due to the lack of the designed parameters, by analyzing the dominant characteristic of a three-inertia system, a simplified model is developed. Based on the simplified model, some analysis methods developed in control of a two-inertia system are applied. The usefulness of the presented model is verified by both simulation and experiment
