Abstract :
Proposed in 1959, Virtualization Technology had been widely used in almost all the computer science areas. With the rise of cloud computing, virtualization technology is facing new challenges and development opportunities. As an application of virtualization used in cloud computing, virtual machine can play the role of the segmentation and reintegration of underlying physical resources, improving the utilization of server hardware resources and reducing energy consumption. Besides of CPU, memory and network performance, storage performance is the important factor of the whole system In fact, the storage performance often becomes the bottleneck of virtualize system Therefore how to optimize the storage performance of virtual machine is very important. In this paper, the storage performance bottleneck of virtual machine will be shown by an experiment, and a list of optimizing solution using advanced hardware and technology is introduced with related test.
