Abstract :
In this work, a two-spindle CNC machine tool used for dental restorations is designed. In view of the fact that its special characteristics of the applications, the mechanical structure and main part of the machine tool have been designed and chosen with careful calculation. The characteristics of denture processing have been analyzed by using functional analysis approach, then, the mechanical structure of the processing system been set up and the performance parameter of key components in system also been provided after the necessary function of machine tool have been clearly defined. The machine tool is equipped with a high speed electro-spindle driven by computerized velocity and can rotating at a maximum speed of 60,000 rpm, the driven unite is equipped with stepping motor for its better motion precision control. The finite element model of machine tool as a whole was established on the Ansys Workbench and the analysis on its dynamic characteristics was carried out. The weak part of the structure was located by applying this method, which will provide technology support for the optimization design of the structure.
