Abstract :
The main function of STATCOM is to compensate reactive power on-line, making the power system have ideal power factor. According to the instantaneous power theory, a novel control method is proposed in this paper that power is detected to be the reference compensation power direct. Basing on the relationship between power and switching of IGBTs, the method of double switch tables is used to control the active power and the reactive power respectively. At the end, simulation results indicate that the STATCOM based on double switching tables DPC shows perfect power compensation.
