Abstract
An adaptive acoustic noise canceller (ANC) is described, and its implementation on a digital signal processor (DSP) is discussed. The system has a primary input for a noisy speech signal and a reference input for the noise. The reference input is adaptively filtered and subtracted from the primary input. Practical considerations regarding the system implementation and the type and localization of the microphones used to capture the signal and the noise are examined. Experimental results showing the good behavior of the system when it is used in different environments are presented
