Abstract :
Energy consumption became one of the most important issue in modern data centers. Reducing the number of active servers will not only reduce the power consumption for high demanding powerful CPUs, but it will reduce the energy cost for cooling, as well. This paper presents an application that will manage the servers in data center by remotely starting and shutting down the servers. It also presents a case study of how this application manages the nodes of the Eucalyptus cloud.
