Abstract :
Integral and differential elastic collision cross-sections for Ne+ ions with neutral Ne atoms are calculated, for center of mass collision energies from 1 meV to 10 eV, using modified Tang and Toennies ion-atom interaction potentials models, TTIA and TTIA-wb, to fit experimental accurate spectroscopic data for the Ne2+ molecular ion and to describe the long-range interaction potentials. The effect of the spin-orbit interaction is included through a semi empirical model and the scattering phase shifts are calculated using the JWKB approximation.
