Abstract
In this paper we describe an ordered information based mining approach called LOI (learning with ordered information), in which the prior knowledge represented by various ordered relations is utilized to discover ordering rules and important attributes for an ordered decision class. Our methodology and experimental results in hepatitis data analysis show that using such prior knowledge improves the quality, confidence, and novelty of discovered knowledge.
