Abstract :
Recent developments of ion stopping in the Geant4 simulation toolkit are discussed. A new low-energy parameterization model is presented, which allows to plug in electronic stopping power tables for ions. In its default configuration the model utilizes tables of the ICRU 73 report. Differences with respect to previously developed Geant4 models for low-energy ions are discussed. The impact of different electronic stopping approaches on simulation results is investigated by means of Bragg peak profiles.
