Abstract :
A new prototype Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber with Long read-out strips (LMRPC) has been constructed and tested. This LMRPC has ten gas gap of 250 μm wide arranged in a double-stack structure. Six strips of ∼90 cm long and 2.5 cm wide are used to collect the induced signals and readout from both ends. Both the cosmic ray test and the beam test taken at T963 at Fermilab show a time resolution of ∼70ps, detecting efficiency ≫ 95 % and spatial resolution ∼1 cm along the strip.
