Abstract
With the advent of power electronics there is an increased number of non-linear loads fed by an electrical system which inherently brings in various issues regarding power quality. Harmonics is such an issue and its mitigation must be looked into with utmost concern. For this, passive filters are a simple, robust and cost effective choice. The paper presents the design of passive harmonic filters to mitigate the source side harmonics of a single phase AC - PV hybrid system which feeds a dual converter. The results obtained with and without filters are analyzed and it is found that after the installation of filters there is a reduction in current harmonics which is evident by the reduction in THD of the source current waveform.
