Abstract
This paper presents an architecture for the creation of a knowledge portal for e-learning based on the pedagogic domain ontology by using semantic web technologies. The knowledge portal is created by semantically relating the learning objects. A user interactive environment is created for the learners to interact with the knowledge portal to efficiently access and utilize the e-learning materials. In the existing e-learning systems that use the semantic web, the thematic knowledge is retrieved but the pre-requisites required for that content is manually grouped. This knowledge portal is designed in such a way that the thematic knowledge as well the requisites required for clearly understanding a required subject is retrieved by investigating the topic and tracking the contents based on the semantic context.
