Abstract :
In this paper, we discuss general design guidelines for the integration of silicon integrated rectifying antennas (rectennas) with CMOS detector amplifiers. We examine the optimal choice of bias current levels for the detecting diode and compare two different types of video amplifier circuits in respect of their noise behavior. Furthermore, we show optimal design values and expected performance data for low noise CMOS and bipolar video opamps available on the market today.
